Vivienne Westwood was first founded in 1971. And is now one of the UK’s leading fashion stores. Inspired by its own designer, the business has produced luxury items of jewellery and clothing for all genders.
With over forty years in the industry, Vivienne Westwood is one of the last global fashion companies in the world. They believe that their business is more than just creating products. It’s also about raising awareness.
The company strongly believes in sustainability and raising awareness about the environment. They look to raise this awareness by only using sustainable packing and preferred materials. They also recycle any of their leftover products.
What was the security risk?
This case study is a great example of our retail security services.
Retail premises often face many security risks. Some of these are fraud, theft, cybersecurity threats, and property damage such as vandalism. But one of the biggest threats they face is shoplifting crimes.
Shoplifting is a prevalent challenge for many retailers across the nation. With some stores experience daily incidents of theft. Shoplifting incidents range from internal employee theft to armed robberies. Criminals target retail stores to steal merchandise so that they can re-sell it, while others will attempt to steal a store’s cash earnings.
Vivienne Westwood is a well-established fashion company in the UK. They got in touch with us when they were looking for additional retail security protection in one of their stores.
How did we help them?
We have been working with Vivienne Westwood since October 2023. We supply them with security cover at weekends in one of their Glasgow stores. But we have also provided them with extra security protection during the Christmas period.
Our primary approach in supplying Vivienne Westwood with security is through our placement of our security guards. Some guards will be positioned alongside the floor staff. Where they will be able to conduct regular patrols around the site while looking out for potential criminals.
Our other officers will be placed in an on-site surveillance room. These guards will CCTV monitoring equipment to review areas in a store. We also have one guard positioned at the front of the store. This guard will be used to supply the premises with a strong visible security presence. This security presence is used to deter criminals from entering.
Our retail security personnel are fully trained to detect any signs of shoplifting. They will thoroughly monitor all customers who enter the store, quickly identify shoplifters, and safely detain them until the police arrive.
