A little more about Bristol Sweet Mart…
Bristol Sweet Mart started their business journey back in 1978. Located in the heart of Easton, this family-based business is known for providing spices and ethnic foods throughout the UK.
Operating both in-store and online, they offer over 9,000 food and drink products. Back in 2009, Bristol Sweet Mart also added their own Deli to their store. Their deli provides customers with home-styled curries and Indian snacks. Bristol Sweet Mart is a key believer in premium products. All of their products are processed and packaged within the UK.
In 2024, Bristol Sweet Mart’s reputation has grown. They are now the biggest supplier of spices and ethnic foods throughout the southwest of England.
What was the security risk?
This case study is a good example of our retail security guards.
Retail establishments encounter many security challenges and threats. These include fraud, theft, cyber threats, and property damage like vandalism. However, one of the biggest dangers they face is the occurrence of shoplifting.
Shoplifting is a significant hurdle for countless retailers nationwide. Many stores face incidents of theft on a daily basis. These incidents can vary from internal employee theft to armed robberies. Criminals target retail outlets to steal goods for resale, while others seek to make off with a store’s cash earnings.
Bristol Sweet Mart was looking for some additional security coverage for their store. They quickly got in touch with us. We supplied them with a security solution that suited their business requirements.
How did we help them?
We started working with Bristol Sweet Mart at the end of January 2024. We provided them with SIA-licensed retail security officers.
Our guards will have many duties protecting Bristol Sweet Mart. But their main one is deterring burglars. One way our guards will do this is by conducting regular patrols around the store. Whilst our guards are patrolling, they look out for shoplifters and get a better understanding of the store’s safety. We ensure all of our retail guards can handle any type of security situation. We also make sure that they are fully trained to detect all signs of shoplifters.
Another way our security guards stop burglars is through their strong security presence. Our guards’ mere presence supplies Bristol Sweet Mart with a strong visual deterrent. This presence can be used to suggest to shoplifters that the store has good security in place. Thus, scaring them away.
We initially provided Bristol Sweet Mart with a short-term security contract. But this has now been extended and is currently ongoing.
